The actress posted a tweet,

Some Singaporeans can be very racist and I think we should talk about it. Because having/continuing objective discussions about this can potentially change the lives of victims of racism in Singapore. Let’s start/keep the ball rolling.

In one incident when asked if the actress, Low is comfortable kissing an “Indian” actor, Low responded,

“That comes from a racist place, because why should I not be okay to kiss an Indian guy??”

This is similar to when the landlord asking if it’s okay your roommate is a male. And replying that the landlord came from a sexist place. The intention is to check her comfort level and she made it a victim-thing.

Sometimes i tell racist malay jokes to my malay friends and they in turn tell racist chinese jokes to me. we shout a few obscenity at each other, laugh, then pat each other on the back.

I find our “tolerant racism” very unique to Singapore and somehow help our multi-racial society function.

Someone shouting out “there’s racism somewhere in this universe” isn’t going to do anything or help with anything. All it does is perpetuates the idea of victimhood.

This is what happens when you spend too much time in Hollywood with all the obnoxious and pretentious celebrities - you catch the ‘I am super sensitive and everything you say offends me’, and ‘everyone is a racist for having preferences/opinons’ syndromes.

A lot of people in /r/singapore are unhappy about her remarks and think that she is overtly sensitive and just wants to gain attention.

A reddit user by the name 1R0NYMAN came up with what he thought was a genius strategy to get free money via options trading and posted it in this thread.

The autists of r/wallstreetbets were mixed. Some of them thought it was genius, others, however, actually understood what they were talking about and strongly advised against this strategy.

Less than a week later, this thread pops up from 1R0NYMAN with the results mentioned in my title. Almost a 2000% loss. Oh, and his account was closed.

It doesn't stop there, though. Around the same time, Robinhood (the app used to make these trades) sent an email notification out to users that the trading strategy used by 1R0NYMAN was no longer being supported by the app, with a strong possibility that his loss was the direct cause.

But it gets more interesting. As the user WOW_SUCH_KARMA points out here, Robinhood may be legally liable for the losses due to some of their actions / lack of actions.

Now, the entire subreddit is exploding with memes and quality shitposts about the entire situation, and the latest news is that 1R0NYMAN has been contacted by MarketWatch, a stock market news site that may want to run a story about it all.

Who knows where it'll go from here.

EDIT: Because people keep asking, it's hard to get a firm understanding of what exactly happened without at least some knowledge of how options work, but this is a good place to start for an ELI5.

NewNameNoah is a pretty popular Exmormon personality in Reddit and IRL. Recently he revealed a plan to shoot a lesbian porn scene in a mormon temple. https://www.reddit.com/r/exmormon/comments/aguv33/theyll_long_for_the_days_they_only_had_to_worry/

Supposedly this is payback for the mormon church banning him from their properties.

Bonus threads: https://www.reddit.com/r/exmormon/comments/ahcy5e/nnn_is_endangering_lgbt_mormon_children_with_his/

https://www.reddit.com/r/exmormon/comments/ahc1h1/words_are_cheap_we_need_action_against/

Bonus Comments: OP threatens to make video anyways if he's banned from /r/exmormon subreddit. Quotes include "If you back me into a corner you will not like my reaction." and "If I’m banned from this subreddit for your bullshit, made up claims about me, I guarantee you that this lesbian porn flick will be made

and Apparently the film is already in production

In this midst of this the OP has confessed to selling donated recommends to a porn company . For some background: A recommend is needed to enter a mormon temple and they are only issued out to active, tithe paying, clean mormons. Some have donated their recommends to the OP in the past on the assumption they'd be given to "unworthy" people wanting to witness a family member's wedding.
