Trophy Case (1)

Ah yes. The classic "gay men posing for a picture before illegally selling a baby's organs" situation

The comparison of antivaxx and immigration is probably the weirder one.

But yes. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

They are both topics where we get lectures from (theoretically) well meaning jerks who want to “protect” us from miniscule to nonexistent risks. That’s obvious.

Kindly remove your person and your fake outrage from my lawn.

Edit: if you loved your dog/children/country, you would take this burdensome and only nominally effective (at best) effort. Clearly you do not love your dog/children/country.

The difference there is that people who want to protect us against immigrants and not vaccinate children are 100% fear mongering and are straight up lying about risks (look up crime rates by immigrants, much lower than native citizens, look up literally any credible vaccination study).

Saying we should keep dogs safe is backed by statistics. The other things you mentioned are not.

At the time of the edit I was far into the negatives, I'm not going to update my comment over and over again to reflect its popularity. I was just sick of the nasty comments I got/hivemind that was clearly going on because I was in the negatives.

Yes I agree. But your larger post is presenting a false dichotomy. One can both cry and move past hurdles.

I am mot referring to it as a dichotomy, but rather what we should encourage more. I think a strong control of your emotions is very healthy and that we should channel our feelings more positively.

I'm not sure what you mean by this; it's a bit of a 540° turn there.

It is ok to give in to your negative emotions, but i do not think it is ok to be ok with giving in to your negative emotions. A parallel way of looking at this is it is ok to screw up at work, but it is not ok to be ok with screwing up at work.

I cry all of the time. I cry when I'm happy, when I'm sad, I cry when I get really thankful for things.

Do I throw tantrums? No. Do I lose control of my emotions? No. Do I sob so much that I can't express myself correctly? No.

Crying is just crying. Why are you so afraid of it? There's nothing wrong with crying any more than there isn't anything wrong with laughing.

There isn’t anything wrong with the core message, but I think the message would resonate better if positive masculinity was better emphasized and toxic masculinity was given a more accurate name (bullying and harassment are neither masculine nor confined to men.) I would bet an ad calling women or a minority ethnic group to do better would be met with a lot of hostility.

This actually cracks me up because while far right looks most like Frank, at this age progression Frank would be long dead.

So maybe far right is aged Charlie and it turns out Frank really is his dad?

You know, I'm going to take a punt and bet that she's not a real nun. Don't know what gives me that impression.
